Unschooling; not as unknown a concept as we're led to believe

Unschooling means you don't "have to" do anything. You just follow your heart. Then each day becomes a whole new experience, everything you do matters and you exist in cooperation with life.

Learning is about discovering life through yourself and your environment. It is not about being programmed how and what to think, do or be.

Learning cannot be separated from fun, experiment, error and experience.

There is no “normal” or fixed pace to learning. Each must follow their own rhythm.

Learning is closely related to freedom as each individual takes steps into the unknown.
ULearning has nothing to do with memorizing facts and figures, being tested and categorized on how much you have memorized, on competition or distinction. Learning is one continuous adventure.

Most adults have become incompetent learners and therefore inapt for teaching.

We can only teach through learning. As soon as the two are separated, we stop growing, we stop giving, we stop being truthful.

"The system teaches us to learn things, in a certain way, for a certain goal, so that we can produce certain behaviors or outcomes and we can obtain a certain set of already agreed upon facts. Learning is prescribed and our measurement of learning is limited to what we think we want our children to do." - Darci Walker

The Shocking Truth About Public Schools

You must understand that school is simply a social-engineering center that wants to dictate the beliefs of young children. Creativity must be halted to ensure that popular belief maintains and that people cannot see through the false facade of bankers, politicians, and many other severe issues.

“The aim of public education is not to spread enlightenment at all; it is simply to reduce as many individuals as possible to the same safe level, to breed a standard citizenry, to put down dissent and originality.” -H.L. Mencken

To live asleep is to think that life is duty. To awaken is to find that life is beauty. Many parents drive their children to acquire skill sets and achievements, forgetting to teach them how to be happy.

This is how kids should be socializing not side by side on the couch holding gaming remotes!
